We need your help! Please make plans to attend a church workday on Saturday, August 9. We will assemble on the North Parkway campus at 9AM to move the final items to this property. This includes the church library and the Operation Christmas Child supplies as well as other items. If you have a truck or a dolly, please bring it. Talk to Harvey Matheny for more details.
Our AWANA organizational meeting is coming up on August 11 following Second Sunday lunch. If you are interested in helping with this program for young people age 2 through twelfth grade, please plan to attend and see how God can use you in the coming year as we strive to disciple our young people. We need people who can teach or listen to verses or supervise game times and more.
MISSIONS MOMENT with
Durk Meijer, Spoken
It is a joy to be able to
continue serving the Bibleless people in our world. Currently I am mentoring
people in four projects, as well as serving as a consultant for their oral
Bible translation projects. In the Philippines I am serving the Iraw people,
a Muslim group in the providence of Mindanao. In their first workshop two and
half years ago, four of the translators started their Journey with Jesus and
now some of their children also have embraced the love of Jesus. They are
currently finishing up the book of Exodus and they are also started with
passages from the gospels, while our Philippine facilitator is making inroads
to other communities where there is an interest to engage with God through His
Word.
You can read the much longer full
letter with family updates on the hallway bulletin board.
