MISSIONS MOMENT with Rich and Lois Jarvi
This fall has been the most challenging start
to a school year that I’ve ever experienced!
Just before things were beginning on campus, I had a total knee
replacement. I asked the doctor how long
it would take to recover. I thought I
heard him say, 3 to 6 weeks. Lois was
with me at the time and when I wasn’t fully recovered at 3 weeks, she informed
me that the doctor had said 3 to 6 months, not weeks. I think I heard what I wanted to hear. Three months later and I am progressing well
and back at it. However, my hockey
career and things that require kneeling are over.
The best part of starting a school year with
my leg up on a chair and doing lots of physical therapy is seeing the God can
get the ministry going without me. It is
humbling, but encouraging, to see students and staff
step up and help.
