MISSIONS MOMENT with Durk & Sandy Meijer,
Spoken
Celebrating the addition of another Oral Bible
Consultant. I had the privilege of mentoring one of our unsung heroes: Greg
Kwalombota from Zambia, who is serving the Mwenyi people. Earlier this month he
completed the Spoken Worldwide certification process to become an Oral Bible
Translation Consultant/Trainer. He is joining our global team of
certified consultants from Brazil, Ethiopia, Ghana, Myanmar, The Netherlands,
Nigeria, and the USA. Soon we are looking to add even more, including people from
Guinea Bissau and The Philippines, as well as Sudan. Greg, together with
his precious wife, fathers eight children between 7 and 24 years. He has a PhD
in religious studies with a focus on African traditional cultures. Greg has
applied this as a Pastor, and it helps him dealing with the different ethnic groups
in the church he pastors. In his ministry he has been serving oral preference
communicators for more than 12 years and as such he has started 4 other
fellowships in the region. He also teaches young pastors in colleges and
universities ‘African cultures and ethics’ and ‘religious education’. Everyone
supporting us through your encouragement, prayers, and/or finances, has been
part of my opportunity to mentor Greg and in return I have been able to learn a
lot from him. Thank you!
