There will be no evening activities today in
honor of Mother’s Day. Enjoy the time
with your families.
We will have our AWANA Awards Night next Sunday at 5PM. Everyone is invited to join us for pizza and a celebration of our young people’s achievements this year. Please sign up on the list in the lobby if you plan to attend and on a second list if you can bring a dessert.
LeaderTreks will be back among us this
summer. Six different youth groups are
currently scheduled to be here between June 1 and August 2 to experience
discipleship training and ministry in an urban setting. Start praying for them and their leaders now.
Vanessa Shanaman and Ember will be leading the teams in June.

Missions Moment: Durk Meijer with
Spoken Worldwide
Thank you for your continued support that
makes it possible for me to continue serving people groups around the
world. Currently I have the privilege to serve oral Bible translation
teams in Africa and Asia: the Keiga and Sudanese Arabic people of Sudan (whose
teams are displaced and working Egypt and Uganda because of local warfare and
spiritual persecution), the Mwenyi in Zambia and the Iraw (code name for
protection of the people) in The Philippines. Our focus in Spoken
Worldwide is being refined by recognizing when we serve as catalysts for local
communities in their journey with God, that helping people engage with the
message of God needs to go beyond what an oral Bible translation team can do.
Real sustainable change and growth happens if we can help people engage across
the whole area where they live, help the different churches/communities of
faith, and including the children, both women and men, as well as old and
young. They also need to have the opportunity to learn how Scripture can
become part of their community for evangelism, discipleship, worship, mourning,
lament, encouragement, prayer, praise, meditation, thanksgiving and other ways
they discover that are relevant for them. It is exciting what God is doing . .
. transforming and mobilizing people worldwide for His glory. --You
can read this full update and others on the bulletin board.
