If you would
like to have your Christmas cards for regular attendees of Memphis Bible Church
to be hand-delivered on the morning of December 21, please drop them off in the
church office by December 17.
The Adult
Christmas Party on December 20 will be a party food potluck. Please sign up at www.perfectpotluck.com to indicate
your plans to attend and what you plan to bring. The coordinator name is Henry
and the password is Party. In addition
to your contribution to dinner, plan to bring a gift ($10-$15) for a fun gift
exchange (one gift per participant).
Gifts should be appropriate for either gender; this is not a white
elephant exchange. We will enjoy
fellowship around the tables, some group holiday games, and other Christmas
activities.

MISSIONS MOMENT with Creig and Sherry Marlowe,
European Christian Mission
Thanks for your prayers for safety on our
recent trip to the USA for Creig’s teaching at Zinzendorf School for Doctoral
Study in Mill Valley, California, and then travel for participation in academic
society meetings this year in Boston, home to famous events early in the
colonial revolution against British rule.
We were reminded how Christians, even at that time, were divided over
the celebration of Christmas, between churches and believers who thought such
festivities were pagan and those who enjoyed the Christmas traditions based on
Jesus’ birth in Bethlehem. These academic
meeting also, of course, highlight interpretive differences between Bible
readers. All this reminds us how much we
as Christians (especially in this season) remain united in Christ as the divine
Messiah, Savior, and hope of the world.
Back home we enjoyed having our two grandsons,
Max and Charlie, along with Marc and Julia, with us over the Thanksgiving
holiday. Max was excited to help with
the delivery of the boxes he had decorated and filled for the shoebox
ministry. Our boxes this year will be
sent to Ukraine and Hungary.
